Gyeongju Hotel Review: H Avenue Bulguksa. Spa, Free Breakfast, and Great Value

🏯 H Avenue Hotel Gyeongju Bulguksa Branch Accommodation Review
I’m reviewing the H Avenue Hotel that I visited during my workation in Gyeongju!
Gyeongju is a city that attracts countless travelers every year thanks to its UNESCO World Heritage sites like Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, and Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond. The H Avenue Hotel Gyeongju Bulguksa Branch, located just a 5-minute walk from the entrance of Bulguksa Temple, is very popular due to its reasonable prices and clean facilities.
Especially since it was renovated in 2024, all the facilities felt new and pleasant. With a free breakfast, Wi-Fi, and a parking lot, it was a hotel with solid basics.
Since it was my first time in Gyeongju, I was very 고민 about choosing accommodation, but I can say that I made a great choice with the H Avenue Hotel Bulguksa Branch. No exaggeration, it was the best value-for-money hotel I’ve ever been to!! +_+

🛏️ Room Review
Originally, I planned to book only one room, but due to a schedule change, I couldn’t cancel, so I ended up using two rooms.
1️⃣ Deluxe Double (40m²)
- Used a special promotion: The room is randomly assigned, and check-in must be after 19:00, with check-out by 10:00.
- When I arrived at the check-in time, the manager gave me a Deluxe Double room. This is the second smallest room in the hotel. But it’s 12 pyeong (a Korean unit of measurement), which is very spacious!!
- Large double bed, clean interior, and thanks to the 2024 remodeling, the condition is like a new building.
2️⃣ Premium Double Spa (60m²)
- I was already satisfied with the Deluxe Double room, but the Premium Double Spa was even more satisfying. It was so spacious that I felt like I could play soccer in it. It was about 18 pyeong!
- The spa tub was perfect for relieving travel fatigue. It was my first time using a spa, and it was so fascinating. It helped release fatigue and made my skin soft, which was great.
- There was a sofa and a table, so we could eat a simple meal. My mom and I ate instant noodles there.
- There was also a Styler. It was my first time using it, and I understood why people use it. It makes clothes look nice.
- There were several desks, making it optimal for workation purposes.
Common to both rooms was that the free Wi-Fi speed was very fast, the air conditioner worked great, and the bedding was very clean. Of course, there was also a phone charger.
The bedding was softer than in other places, so I slept very well. My mom, who came with me, usually can’t sleep well in unfamiliar places, but she went to dreamland as soon as she showered after returning to the accommodation, even though we didn’t do much sightseeing. I had to be careful while working so as not to wake her up.
And! Another great thing was that they even provided disposable items (toothbrush, toothpaste, razor), which most Korean hotels no longer offer, and in the spa room, they even provided bath bombs, which made the satisfaction level very high.
🍳 Breakfast Service
Breakfast is provided free of charge to all guests. And the composition is quite substantial.
- Bread, cereal, boiled eggs, simple snacks, coffee.
- It’s not a buffet, but it was enough to satisfy a light hunger.
- It was great that both travelers and workation guests could use it comfortably.
- Breakfast hours are from 08:00 to 10:00. Time must be kept.
🚙 Parking Lot
The parking lot is not very big. One car can be parked per room.
Since the hotel offers such great value and condition, it can be tricky to find a spot when you come back at night, as the lot is often full. Of course, there will be a spot somewhere, but it might be in a corner that’s hard to see.
A tip just for summer: In the summer, the car can get hot easily from the morning sun. If you park close to the parking lot entrance, the building’s shadow will cover the car, keeping it cooler.
💻 Workation & Convenience
I visited with the purpose of a workation (+ my mom came to sightsee in Gyeongju) and was very satisfied with the workation experience.
- The Deluxe room is optimized for simple stays.
- The Premium Spa room has multiple desks, making for an excellent work environment.
- The Wi-Fi was seamless and fast!!
- The parking lot made car travel convenient (though it was almost full at night).
The experience of being able to relax in the spa tub after working was definitely a distinguishing advantage.
📝 Overall Rating & Booking Tips
The H Avenue Hotel Gyeongju Bulguksa Branch was an excellent budget accommodation without a doubt. It has everything you need: clean, renovated facilities, free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and a parking lot.
- ✅ Pros: 5-minute walk to Bulguksa, reasonable price, spa room option, free breakfast.
- ❌ Cons: Far from the city center (Bomun Lake area), so a car is essential.
For booking, use Agoda or Booking.com to get special deals and the free cancellation benefit. If you are traveling for a workation or with family, I recommend the spacious spa room.
In Conclusion
If you’re planning a trip to Gyeongju, I recommend you consider the H Avenue Hotel Bulguksa Branch, which meets these three conditions:
- Easy access to Bulguksa and Seokguram,
- Clean rooms thanks to the renovation,
- Reasonable accommodation prices.
The price was definitely much lower compared to Seoul, which increased my satisfaction. It was a suitable accommodation for families, couples, and freelancers alike.
Honestly, if I visit the Bulguksa area again, I will definitely stay here again. The condition of the accommodation was just too good!
